Creative Team Where the Wind Takes You Card

Creative Team Where the Wind Takes You Card

by Creative Team member Helen Cooke

Supplies:

smooth white card; textured card; silver card
Carpe Diem : Posh – word label stickers
Distress Ink : chipped sapphire & stormy sky

Instructions:

In order to determine how I wanted the airplane to look, I cut it three times using silver card, blue glitter card and white glitter card.  I collected each of the negative pieces from all three cards, and re-inserted them, mixing up the different colours.   I put double sided tape on the back of the frames to keep the negative pieces in place and put the three airplanes aside until the card background was finished.

From smooth white card, I cut a 130mm x 130mm square.  On my craft mat, I inked up chipped sapphire and stormy sky Distress Ink, spritzed it with water and then dragged and twisted the square of white card through it.  After leaving it to dry for a few minutes, I again smooshed the card through the remainder of the Distress Ink which gives more of a splatter pattern.  I edged the four sides of the card with chipped sapphire and then put it aside to dry.
The co-ordinating mats were cut from silver card (135mm x 135mm) and blue textured card (140mm x 140mm).  These mats were adhered to folded white card (290mm x 45mm).
I cut a selection of clouds from white card, choosing a couple of them to adhere to the top of the background .  From the three airplanes put aside earlier, I chose the silver bodied one and adhered it below the clouds with double sided foam tape.
I found an appropriate quote from the word label stickers, cut them into three sections and with a fine black pen, drew a line around each one.
Each background made using the above technique is unique – no two will ever be the same.  This particular background  reminds me of an approaching storm.
Thank you for visiting today, comments are always appreciated – HAPPY CRAFTING!
