Creative Team Christmas Shadow Box Scene

Creative Team Christmas Shadow Box Scene

by Creative Team member Kathy MacDonald

Kathy has created this amazing winter wonderland shadow box scene using many of the Crafts 4U dies. Simply by layering them up and using acetate and lots of foam tape between each layer she is able to create a stunning snow scene that is sure to surprise and recipient.

If your confidence is not up to making a shadow box, her design could easily be simplified for a card front or why not turn it into a shaker card!

Supplies:

Assorted papers for background
Assorted distress inks for colouring to suit your scene

Check out her all white shadow box as well! Just add some sparkle with your sparkle pen

Creative Team Rustic Holly Peace Card

Creative Team Rustic Holly Peace Card

by Creative Team member Kathy Macdonald

Supplies:

Crafts 4UA5 Card Smooth/Burgundy (or C4U Glitter Card in Red)
KaiserCraft 12X12 Card – Forest
Simple Stories 12x12 paper – Very Merry/Peace on Earth #9248
Crafts 4U Holly Peace die 70119
Crafts 4U Wooden Embellishments – Snowflakes 70071
Crafts 4U Double sided tape 100mmx20m
Crafts 4U Foam tape 12mmx4m/2mm thick #30004
Various ribbon and twine
Liquid glue

Instructions:

Score the white card 10.5 mm along the long side and fold in half burnishing fold with bone folder.
For card front, cut one piece of olive paper to a matt of 10.5x15 mm. Ink edges in gold. Using double sided tape, apply to the four sides on the back of the olive card.
For contrast, cut olive gingham paper (pattern straight) to a matt of 10x14.5 mm.
Apply C4U Double sided tape 100mmx20m red and cream papers.
Cut 1 PEACE die in red and 4 PEACE dies in cream. Remove release paper.
By carefully matching up the die cuts, with red on top, you can create a dimensional die cut element.
If you create a stack of cream die cuts and then off set the red die cut slightly you will create a ‘shadow’ effect.
Back ribbon with double sided tape and adhere to gingham card front, wrapping the ribbon under the edges.
Place stacked die cut over the ribbon and gently press.
Adhere foam tape to the back of this front and adhere to the olive matt.
Choose some small snowflake embellishments and adhere to card front using a liquid glue.
Adhere card front to card body using double sided foam tape.

Creative Team Merry Christmas Background Die

Creative Team Merry Christmas Background Die

by Kelly McCausland

Supplies:

Assorted patterned papers
Black Card
Powder tool
Sequins

Instructions:

Add 100mm double sided tape to the back of your mirror board.

Cut your background die from the mirror board making sure you cut into the mirror side

Carefully peel from backing and adhere to acetate sheet

Cut off excess acetate and add foam tape to the frame edge. I have used the new 3mm Foam tape as it fits perfectly. Use a double layer for more 'shake' from your card

Die cut assorted snowflakes from white glitter card for your shaker

Prepare your backing for your shaker card - trim to 11cm x 13.8cm. I have used black to highlight the words in the die

Run around the inside edges of your foam tape with powder tool to stop sequins sticking

Add snowflakes and assorted sequins to the middle of your backing card, peel backing off foam and stick your window to the backing card to create your shaker

Layer and adhere your papers and shaker to your card base. I chose a card size of 14 x 16.5 cm to fit the die and have a nice border.

Creative Team Mountain Christmas Card

Creative Team Mountain Christmas Card

by Creative Team member Dani Choate

Supplies:

Card stock - turquoise, white, dark blue & black
Tombow Mono liquid glue

Instructions:

- Cut and fold a card out of black cardstock. This will be a landscape card
- Cut a stitched rectangle, one each in white & turquoise cardstock
- Using the mountain die set, separate the three die lines (i.e. break the small links to give you three separate dies that can be used individually
                - cut the white rectangle with the upper die line
                - cut the turquoise rectangle with the lower die line
- Now run the white mountain die cut through the tiny dot embossing plate. This step needs to be done last so that the dots will not be flattened with any further pressing with the die cutting machine. This will now have a snowy mountain effect
- Place the white dotted mountain onto the black card base.
- Next lay the turquoise mountain die cut over the white, positioning it to still be able to see some of the white dots above. Trim the bottom of this blue layer to sit just on the bottom stitched line of the white. Pop this up on foam tape.
- Now use the 'Forest Deer' die. Cut in both black and dark blue
Place the dark blue die cut behind the black die cut but just offset the blue a little to the right (2-3mm) & slightly above (1-2mm). This should indicate a slight shadow effect. Attach these two die cuts together in this manner
-This die & shadow unit can now be added to the front of the card as one piece. Have this piece sit just inside the edge of the turquoise layer
- Lastly using champagne glitter card stock, cut 3 small stars from the 'Funky Xmas Tree' die set along with the script die 'Merry Christmas'. These can all be backed before die cutting with double sided tape for ease of attaching.
- Adhere 'Merry Christmas' to the bottom left corner of the card and 3-4 small stars just above the right upper mountain peak
